Good morning, Mr. President. Mind if I smoke? No, 'course you don't. Have a seat? Don't mind if I do, sir. The Weapons Shop collective as a whole extends its wishes for a very happy Fourth of July. This conversation will be simulcorded live on our public website. Just warning you. Indemnity, you know. Silence implies your consent.

Oh, you were briefed already. You just watched the holopresentation. That's okay. Don't get up.

Just… listen. Do you hear the silence? We did that, sir. We put it there. And by God, we can take it away so fast you won't even know what happened. As long as you can still hear that silence, sir, you speak your peace, you ask questions, whatever's on your mind.

One of your own, a man named Don Rumsfeld, famously asserted that you go to war with the Army you have, not the one you want. Typical of the generation that eventually hatched your own, sir. Rumsfeld put the DOD back under civilian control while underequipped, underprotected troops rode right up to the cannon's mouth in slicks that crashed, tanks that blew up, bombers that couldn't shoot straight, and worse. Then they got shipped back into the shit crazier than… pardon me, but…you, sir, as soon as their sutures dissolved and they could stand up and limp…
