SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

Update May 14th 2009
Note: We had a computer crash and lost all submissions to SpecFicWorld's Featured Fiction, including submissions to the Weird Westerns, Weirducopia, and Paradise lost anthologies - we are asking all writers and artists to please submit again

SpecFicWorld has several opportunities for speculative fiction (science fiction, fantasy, and horror) writers and we are always on the hunt for new talent and working with established writers.

SpecFicWorld doesn't pay professional rates and only offers token payments between $5-25 for fiction.  If you're looking for a list of pro markets, we suggest you check out one of the more established online market lists, or check out our market database.    And if you're not sure what a pro paying market is, we recommend checking out the membership requirements for the SFWA® (Science Fiction Writers of America) and the HWA (Horror Writers Association).

In the past SpecFicWorld has published several major award winning authors from around the globe like Tanith Lee, Lyn McConchie, Charlee Jacob, Michael A. Arnzen, Kelly Link, Nancy Kress, Kurt Newton, Bruce Boston, Tim Pratt, Stephen D. Rogers, Forrest Aguirre, Melissa Scott, A.R Yngve, James S. Dorr, John Kaiine, Paul Di Filippo, Theodora Goss, Catherine Lundoff, Marianne de Pierres, Lyda Morehouse, Sarah Ash, Cat Sparks, Lisa Goldstein, and so many others we feel ashamed not to list them all.

We highly recommend you read our guidelines in their entirety, while we will not reject a story because of a few mistakes, we do have a very low tolerence for writers that simply don't bother to read our guidelines.

We also recommend reading some of our free downloads or purchase one of featured fiction selections to get a feel for what we like.

If none of the above scares you off, please feel free to submit.
